Like the Swiss farmhouse, Maison des Noyers was a very special experience. Personal belongings like family photos, postcards and other items laying around, made the visit very intimate. Although the fact that this is a pretty well known location for urban exploration and that the rooms looked a bit staged, the grief of how suddenly this farmhouse was abandoned could be felt.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find details about what happened exactly at Maison des Noyers, but according to the items found laying around, it was owned by a married couple with one daughter. It seemed like the man lost his wife early, because a lot of family photos show just him with his daughter (or maybe the mother was the photographer?). The wedding photo was found in the attic, next to fashion magazines (from the 1940’s) and a cut-off pony tail of the daughter.
